LATEST: Eva Longoria and Tony Parker have officially tied the knot at a civil ceremony on Friday.
The Desperate Housewives
star turned up at a city hall in Paris, France, in a limousine wearing
a short pink Chanel dress with striped black and white straps
- while her new husband arrived in a mini van wearing a dark grey suit.
Couples who marry in France must take their vows at a city hall - even
if they are planning to have a church wedding as well. The ceremony was
officiated by Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe. The newly-married pair are
planning a second wedding on Saturday - with the
Saint-Germain-l'Auxerroix Church in Paris the likely location. Previously reported: Eva Longoria and Tony Parker's
plans for a private wedding ceremony on Saturday have been dashed -
thanks to a church date book. Visitors to the Saint-Germain-l'Auxerroix
church in Paris, the rumored site of the ceremony, have been able to
view the date book - and Saturday has been mysteriously blocked out.
The church, which is located near the Louvre Museum, once served the
French royal family. Paris Match magazine claims the couple is still
trying to avoid the paparazzi by using the church's back entrance, and
Longoria plans to don her designer wedding gown once inside. The civil
ceremony is rumored to take place on Friday at Paris' City Hall.
Meanwhile, basketball star Parker reportedly surprised his wife-to-be
on Tuesday when he arranged a romantic trip for the two of them to
France's Mont Saint-Michel medieval citadel - the country's third most
visited attraction. The couple reportedly took a helicopter from Paris
to Normandy, where they dined at romantic restaurant La MMre Poularde.
A waitress tells People magazine, "They just turned up without a
reservation. They were very elegant, very beautiful... They seem so
very much in love." The couple flew back to Paris the following morning
and spent Wednesday partying with family and friends at Disneyland
Paris.
Hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs has slammed reports he has split from his long-term love, Kim Porter.
The couple originally dated from 1994 to 1999, before rekindling their
relationship in 2003, and have three children together - Christian, 10,
and twins D'Lila and Jessie, seven months. Porter is alleged to have
moved out of Combs' New York City apartment, with plans to make a home
in Beverly Hills, California with her kids, where she has just bought a
house. Speaking to the New York Post, a source says, "Kim is in
Louisiana filming a movie right now, and when it's done she's moving to
L.A. She is focusing on her career as a model and actress and raising
her children. They are the best of friends, but they just can't be
together right now." Mystery has always surrounded the pair's
relationship, with Combs linked to a number of women throughout the
pair's time together. Earlier this week, Combs was linked to British
actress Sienna Miller, and has previously claimed he "still loved" Porter despite dating Jennifer Lopez for two years from 1999. However a spokesperson for Combs has denied the split, saying, "There is no truth to this."
Former U.S. Vice-President and Live Earth co-organizer Al Gore
has spoken about his son's Independence Day DUI and drug possession
arrest. Gore's son Al Gore III, 24, was pulled over by police who
caught him speeding on an Orange County, California freeway on
Wednesday. During a search of his hybrid Prius, cops found a stash of
prescription drugs and marijuana. The politician's son was jailed and
later bailed. His concerned father, who is preparing for this weekend's
Live Earth spectacular, says, "We love him very much and we're just
happy that no one was hurt, that he's safe and getting treatment. We're
treating it as a private family matter." It isn't the first time Gore's
son has faced legal problems for his marijuana use; he was also
arrested by police in 2003 for possession. At the time, Gore III was
sentenced to serve time in a substance abuse treatment program.
Michael Jackson is
house-hunting for a holiday home on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The
singer already has a rented home in Las Vegas and still owns his
abandoned Neverland Ranch in California, despite false rumors he is
selling the huge estate. Jackson's spokeswoman Raymone Bain has
confirmed reports the pop star had been spotted looking at waterfront
mansions in Maryland last month. Bain said Jackson spent "about 24
hours" on the peninsula, but has yet to make a purchase. Bain told the
Washington Post that Jackson wants an East Coast base because "the
majority of his advisers and attorneys are on the East Coast. He's
always admired the properties on the East Coast because they have a lot
of land. Neverland has 3,000 acres - he likes privacy. You can't find
as many properties like that on the West Coast.
