New Film Stars Lynn Whitfield, Glynn Turman, Tyson Beckford,
Bruce McGill, James Russo, Reginald T. Dorsey, Justin Malloy and Linara Washington
LOS ANGELES , CA – The PAN AFRICAN FILM & ARTS FESTIVAL (PAFF) CLOSING NIGHT GALA will feature the WORLD PREMIERE of KINGS OF THE EVENING starring Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee Lynn Whitfield ( The Josephine Baker Story ); Bruce McGill from the Oscar nominated film Cinderella Man; international icon, Tyson Beckford ( Into the Blue ); and; James Russo ( Open Range ) known for his sinister portrayals; renown character award winning actor Glynn Turman ( Sahara ; HBO's The Wire ); and rising starlet Linara Washington ( E.R ., Prison Break ), who will star as the leading lady in the film. The star-studded premiere will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2008 , 7 p.m. ,
at the AMC Magic Johnson Crenshaw 15 Theaters located at 4020 Marlton

Homer Hobbs, after serving two years in jail, returns home to a bleak
town caught in the depths of the Great Depression - no jobs, no
prospects and no hope. He is thrown together with four strangers, each
struggling to survive and dig their way out of poverty. As they try to
survive during this troubled time, they are forced to face their
problems and ultimately learn, by way of an unusual fashion contest,
that the only thing a man really owns is his pride and self-respect.
Cast members will be present and after party immediately follows
screening. Known for showcasing new films first and recognized as America's premiere black film festival, past PAFF features have included box office and award-winning hits: Ray , Lackawanna Blues , Redemption , Crazy As Hell , Kingdom Come , T he Brothers, Gridlock'd , Days of Glory , and the 2006 Academy Award® winner for Best Foreign Film, Tsotsi .
The film festival will take place in Los Angeles February 7-18, 2008
and is expected to draw over 40,000 attendees during its twelve-day
