Nas: My President Is Black From The Recession (Def Jam, 2008) As far as I know, this new track from Raphael Saadiq isn't a cover song, but it somehow manges to capture the exact tone and feel of early-60s R&B. The song's from Saadiq's upcoming album, The Way I See It, which drops Sept. 16 via Columbia Records. On the album, Saadiq pays tribute to classic Stax and Motown-era Soul and R&B music, and the songs from it that yours truly has heard so far, like the addictive "100 Yard Dash" and the romantic "Love That Girl," sound pretty sweet.
