Rapper Rakim – best known as half of the rap duo Eric B. & Rakim –
sat down with Billboard to discuss the fall release of his anticipated
new album, "The Seventh Seal," a project he says is fueled by
"consciousness and spirituality." The rapper signed with
Dr. Dre's Aftermath label in 2001, but later parted ways without having
ever released an album. In fact, Rakim has not released a new studio
project since 1999's "The Master," save for 2008's mostly live set,
"The Archive: Live, Lost & Found," which included four previously
unreleased songs.The new album is being
released on Rakim's Ra Records label in a joint venture with Tuscan
Villa Entertainment. Its first single, "Holy Are You," will hit shelves

comeback. Today, there are several singers and entertainers who sport

favorite, although not in the spotlight as of late, Lauryn Hill. I

Jaicko Lawrence (his first name's pronounced jay-ko)
is a performer from Barbados, the same island that gave us the singers
Rihanna and Shontelle. According to his Capitol Records bio, he's 17
(although he looks at least a couple of years older to yours truly) and
began his career in music after dropping out of high school. He started
out as a rapper, but switched to singing when he realized he was better
at it. He's already released one independent album in his homeland, and
is now looking to break into the American market. Check out his current
