Review: Chico DeBarge - Addiction

On his sixth album, Addiction (released in the U.S. on July 14, 2009), Chico DeBarge once again shows flashes of the musical brilliance that always makes devoted R&B fans pay attention every time he releases an album. But once again, the full album isn't completely satisfying. There are some great moments within it's 15 tracks, and Chico will no doubt satisfy his core fans with the album's low-key, sexy vibe. But the package as a whole is maybe a little too low-key. Although there aren't any poor songs here, there aren't exactly a whole lot of tracks that might go on to achieve 'timeless classic' status, either.
