Keyshia Cole and her fiancée, Cleveland Cavaliers player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday (March 2) a little before midnight, the singer's rep confirmed.
As first reported by Cole's close friend, Monica, yesterday, the child is named Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr., after his dad.
After Cole went into labor, Monica began tweeting her friend’s progress to fans under her Twitter account, @MonicaMyLife.
This is the first child for Cole, whose rep sent the following statement to VIBE on behalf of the couple:
“Keyshia Cole and Daniel Gibson are proud to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr. born on March 2 at 11:54 P.M. weighing a healthy 7 lbs. 3 oz. The proud couple would like to thank everyone for giving them privacy during this special time. Keyshia would also like to give a special thank you to her fans that have been with her since the beginning sharing in her growth as a woman and an artist. Both mother and baby are doing great.” --Clover Hope
